COVID-19 Information

The Westminster Community is committed to the health and safety of all of God’s children, so we’re doing our part to be responsible and compassionate during this global pandemic! Worship is always online, but you can also see our plan for returning to in-person worship by clicking here. The church building remains closed to all but essential personnel (and work done by essential personnel is scheduled and coordinated to ensure the safety of our staff and volunteers). Welcome to Westminster

…where we are endeavoring to deepen our relationships with God and one another, and to share the love of Jesus Christ with every person.
Our Dynamic Pastor
is anything but ordinary!
As a single mom of a preschooler who has been in ministry for more than two decades, Pastor Meg’s depth of faith, diversity of personal experience, and dynamic preaching style combine for meaningful sermons that are relevant to daily living at every stage of life.
Fun and Fellowship
on our beautiful campus!
A campfire ring, the community garden, numerous fruit trees, a playground, and lots of green space are all part of the charm of the Westminster campus! Church events, as well as local children and dog-walkers, make good use of this beautiful space.
Meaningful Worship
without being rigid!
We strive for worship that both challenges and comforts, that includes a variety of music styles, that is sacred without taking ourselves too seriously. We welcome all of God’s people, always providing a space for questions and doubts, as well as differences of belief and opinion.
A Church for All Ages
We’re a family of faith!
At Westminster we treasure God’s people of every age. People of all ages are welcome in worship, and we have study opportunities for every stage of life. We seek to welcome all people, regardless of age, into the family of faith … and to help them faithfully answer God’s call in their lives.
Don’t wait until Sunday …

It’s all about

Grace, Love, and Hope

Pastor Meg’s sermons always remind us of
God’s love for us, as well as God’s invitation
to be vessels of God’s love to the whole world.

We’re Open Every Sunday

Adult Sunday School at 9 am
Morning Worship at 10:15 am
What can I expect?
The unassuming doors of Westminster lead to worship and praise in a relaxing and positive atmosphere. Your family will be comfortable in our traditional service, and we promise yours won’t be the only children talking during worship. Fellowship abounds for those coming solo or without children, as an eclectic group of worshipers gathers each Sunday.
Should I dress up?
When your pastor preaches barefoot, it’s safe to assume that formal dress isn’t required. Take one look around Westminster and you’ll see that everyone dresses to their own comfort level. No need for a suit and tie, unless that’s your style! God’s grace extends beyond ironed pants and crisp collars; come as you are able.
Do I have to give money?
You are our guest, and we hope that you will enjoy our service while getting to know Westminster and its people. We encourage each of our members to pray about how their gifts (time, energy, skills, as well as financial resources) can best support Christ’s mission. However, you will never be under any obligation to tithe, and absolutely no one is going to judge you.
What will happen?
Our pastor gives a positive, empowering sermon aimed at encouraging those present to follow Christ. Pastor Meg relates the scriptures to everyday life, encouraging us to remember that the sharing of God’s grace – through both our words and our actions – is the task of all of Christ’s disciples. Worship is meaningful and reverent, but neither uptight nor clichéd.

Getting Involved at Westminster

Adult Sunday School
Visit either of our adult Sunday School classes at 9 am every week before worship. The Adult #1 class does weekly scripture study; the Adult #2 class focuses on current issues.
Family Sunday School
On 2nd & 4th Sundays of each month, families gather for an hour after worship. Parents share in group discussion, while the children’s class has a Bible lesson and themed activities and loads of fun!
Children and Worship
Littles have a special place in the worship space – the PrayGround – where they have a great view of worship and lots of activities. If parents prefer, children not yet in kindergarten are welcome to go the WPC nursery, which is staffed by volunteers.
Food Pantry Collections
Westminster has a long partnership with St. Augustine’s Food Pantry, and each week we collect items most in need. Check the worship bulletin for items for next week’s collection!
Morning Prayer
Take a moment on Tuesdays and Thursdays for silent prayer. This ‘open sanctuary’ time from 9 – 9:30 am offers a mid-week reminder of God’s presence with us.
Chess Group
Join us each Thursday at 6:30 pm in the Blue Classroom to learn and play chess. No experience is required and every skill level is welcome!
Okinawan Karate
Tuesday and Thursday evenings are for Karate, which meets from 6:30 – 8 pm. Newcomers may join our empowering group at any time, regardless of skill level.
Men’s Fellowship
Let’s eat! The men of the church gather for food and fellowship at 8:30 am on the first Saturday of each month at Papa Mendi’s Restaurant.
Naomi/Ruth Circle
Offering enrichment and fellowship, this women’s Bible study meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 9:30am in Risser Hall.
Campfire Church
In the warmer months, Friday nights are a time to gather at the fire ring. Games and food begin at 6pm, followed by stories and songs as we worship around the fire.
Book Group
Once a month, this group gathers for fellowship and to discuss a recent work of fiction. The group meets on Monday nights, but dates vary. Watch the eNews for details.
Women’s Fellowship
This women’s group meets the fourth Thursday of the month from 11:30 am – 1 pm. Come for the food … but you’ll come back for the camaraderie.
